Sr. Electronics/Embedded Engineer Would you like to be a key member of a company involved in the revolutionary development of a whole new lithium-ion battery? My client is an emerging portable power company answering the call for safer, longer lasting Lithium-ion batteries. The company is led by a CEO and Founder who is one of the world's foremost authorities in battery system innovation and design, and backed by leading venture capital firms. Their innovative systems approach to portable power and application-specific batteries starts with safety, while achieving next-generation performance gains. Founded in 2005, the company is headquartered in Massachusetts with Six Sigma-level manufacturing operations in China. Experienced electronics engineers wanted for senior and junior design positions at an exciting and well-funded battery start-up company. You are detail-oriented and familiar with designing and debugging circuit boards, writing firmware for the embedded processors, and bringing the electronics design to high volume production. Must have experience developing battery charging and battery management circuit design chipsets from TI and Maxim. Qualifications: BSEE or MSEE + 5 years electronics and embedded software experience Extensive experience of analog and digital circuit design using off-the-shelf or custom integrated circuits. Ability to write and debug firmware or microcode for embedded applications. A self-starter. Ability to manage a project independently Li-ion battery power management electronics experience. Generally, this is the baseline qualification. Evaluation will likely be determined based on how far beyond this the candidates capabilities appear.
Responsibilities: Develop battery pack electronics and firmware designs tailored to the customer’s functional requirements. In-depth understanding of chip datasheets from different suppliers. Build and test prototypes in the lab both hands-on and directing technicians. Generate and debug prototype and preproduction samples. Interface with customers to insure all functional requirements are met. Daily interactions with senior staff on status of ongoing projects, pack testing, and lab operations. Occasional travel to customer sites and to Asia and Europe as required.
